While collecting old china and pots for mosaicking, the Willow Pattern is always turning up. Many of us have a story of somebody who cherished the blue and white patterned plates often inherited from previous generations. (When purchasing the plain blue tiles from a warehouse, even the young guy serving me had an aunt who had taught him the whole poem that accompanies the pattern and was able to recite the lines.)

Blue and white combine so well and stand out in both garden or interior settings, I have made this piece for both locations. It is a great way of story telling and I love the crazy perspective of this design and look forward to using it again in designs with different locations and subjects.
