My client requested a flow of mosaic through his front garden incorporating the existing gravel surface.

I looked at streams and remembered a lovely film image of water flowing over lost precious objects so I asked the family for pieces of memorabilia that meant something to them. I received some lovely bits and pieces, and ideas of a lighthouse, and Klimpt.

My drawings showed how the stream would run with green and blue flows around small rocks. I also prepared grasses and smooth boulders to create a living growing surrounding landscape.

I created some deep pools of resin where the personal objects and images ‘float’ under the surface. I also loved including the ‘lost’ items of keys and coins adding to the poetry of a stream of memories.
